wedding season

And so begins the month of travel! Happy June! :)

I spent this past weekend in Huntsville, AL with my best friends to celebrate Shelby and Alex getting married! The ceremony was gorgeous, to say the least. They had an outdoor ceremony at a country club on the top of a mountain called The Ledges. It really helped that the weather was beautiful too!

I'm still in shock that the past year came and went so quickly, and the weekend my friends and I looked forward to for so long is already over. But I'm so thankful for the time we got to spend together and know we'll all be reunited for Jen's wedding this time next year.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Rand. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and so much more!

to be or not to be...

That is the question...

But really, that's the question. I've spent the better half of the past week asking myself what do I want to be? Who do I want to be? Which has all led me to realizing how lucky I really am. I live in an amazing city. I have incredible friends. I am surrounded by numerous opportunities. But I still find myself wanting more. And then it hit me; I've stopped learning.

Yeah, a master's degree would be great. And yes, I'm loving the market research course I'm taking at UGA right now, but what else am I really learning? I guess this all ties back into my ATL Bucket List, but I'm still trying to learn more about my post-grad self. I'm still trying to determine what defines me, in this city, at this job, to other people. I'm still trying to learn more about myself and find new ways to be a better "me".

Moving to a new city straight out of college really threw a curve ball at me, but it has definitely changed my perception of who I want to be. So while I'm still working to figure "me" out in this place I call home, below is a list of things that really helped me adjust to a new environment with new people.

1. Keep an open mind - From here on out, nothing will be how it was.
2. Don't be afraid to meet new people - Introduce yourself to your new neighbors. Strike up a conversation with someone at the pool. The longer you wait to make new friends, the worse off you'll be.
3. Go to those work happy hours - Your co-workers can be your best friends or your worst enemies. Better get started on the right foot. Besides, it's likely you're going to need a drink after a 9 hour day in the office. Might as well share it with your cube neighbor!
4. Join a sports league - Whether sports are your thing or not, do it! I've joined a kickball league and a softball league and I continue to make new friends. I'm not the best one out there but I still have fun!
 5. Enjoy time to yourself - Don't enjoy it, cherish it. Go rent a bike and take a ride. Go find a new running trail and pound some pavement. Don't feel like you need to be surrounded by people 24/7. Enjoy the little time you may have to yourself and find something new and adventurous to do.
6. Keep your college friends closer than ever - Make sure to maintain these relationships as much as possible. They're worth it. These people are probably going to be the ones standing next to you at your wedding. :)
7. Be happy! - Do what you love and love what you're doing.

WOOHOO POST-GRAD LIFE!
